When you’re recruiting, do you do what everyone else does?

When you’re recruiting, do you do what everyone else does?

A recurrent question in recruitment, which often leads to stereotyped answers that are rarely interesting is…

Why take stock of yourself?

Better self-knowledge is a real advantage, whether in your professional or private life. Being able to identify your strengths, and also your weaknesses, is a guarantee of efficiency at work. It allows you to manage your career more effectively while remaining in alignment with your inner personality.

Determine what you are naturally good at:

define the professions, positions, and missions that you are enthusiastic about and in which you can excel; explore and carefully expose your added value (recruitment, internal promotion, sales prospecting, etc.).

Reinforce your strong points:

know what positively distinguishes you from others, cultivate it to master it perfectly, and why not make it your business?

Improve your weaknesses or delegate:

choose to work on your weaknesses in order to overcome them (training, coaching, etc.) or instead outsource the task that doesn’t play to your strengths. For example, some people are awkward in negotiations and prefer to delegate rather than lose a deal. Others, angry with numbers, opt for the help of a colleague/consultant who is comfortable in this area to draw up a financial report, a business plan, etc.

Turn your weaknesses into real assets:

capitalize on your aptitudes, abilities and natural qualities at home in order to align your professional life with your true personality.

Improve your self-confidence:

better self-knowledge leads to a better relationship with others and, at work, better management of delicate and confusing situations.

Assert yourself in your job, your company:

be assertive by daring to show and rely on your strengths and by recognising your weaknesses (even if you have to work on them).

“Know yourself” is a motto inscribed on the frontispiece of the Temple of Delphi, taken up by Socrates
